8 NSMS records at the 2021 North Island Short Course Championships

200m Freestyle Relay, Mixed 240 -279, record holders

Bravo to Nicki Clement, Megan Wilson, Ian Gunthorp, Janusz Kordinski and Sue Pollard who all took part in the 2021 North Island Short Course Championships in Paraparaumu on 17 and 18 July.

It was a hat trick for Nicki Clement who broke her own record from 2021 in the Women 55-59 category 50m Butterfly, by shaving it from 33:85 to 33:38. As if that wasn't enough she went on to also break the record for the Women 55-59, 100m Breaststroke category, with a result of 1:31.15, previously 1:31.56. Still not satisfied, she went on to once again break her own record from 2021 in the 100m butterfly by coming in at 1:12.76, previously 1:14.73

Janusz Kordinski took the record for the Men's age 55-59, 50m Butterfly, with a result of 29:70, previously 30:19, and then went on to break another record in the 100m IM, coming in at 1:09:89, previously 1:10.86.

Ian Gunthorp also had to steal the show with a record in the Men's age 75-79 category, 1500m Freestyle with a result of 24:24.70, previously 25:21:33, and then another one in the 800m Freestyle with a result of 12:55.60, previously 13:55:33. A minute faster!

To top off this record-breaking performance, the NSMS relay team including Janusz Kordinski, Megan Wilson, Nicki Clement and Ian Gunthorp went on to break the record in the Mixed 240-279, 200m Freestyle Relay with a time of 2:09.67 trumping the previous time of 2:20.12 that was also held by NSMS (Don Bidwell, Sue Pollard, Ian Gunthorp, Julie Gunthorp). Shame on you team for knocking them out!
